W&W Wellness - Fenty Beauty

Fenty by Rhianna Review

Fenty is the new make-up line from Rhianna, exclusive to Harvey Nichols. When in Leeds I popped in to check it out.

Health warning ladies - there will be queues of young, cool and beautiful girls. I was taken back to my teenage thrill of buying my first Heather Shimmer lipstick, albeit this range is a little more high end. Feeling a little old, but accompanied by my daughter as an excuse, I ventured up to the counter to give it all a good try.

The first thing I was impressed with was the price, expecting a really expensive price tag the make-up prices weren't as bad as I'd feared.

The foundation comes in dozens of shades and was soft and easy to apply. Rhianna has designed “a range of traditionally hard to match skin tones, developing formulas that work for all skin types, and pinpointing universal shades” which I think she has achieved. The soft matte longwear foundation is priced at £26:00 for 32ml.

But it was all the sparkle that attracted us like magpies – Rhianna says “makeup is there for you to have fun with” and the Fenty range certainly does that. The Galaxy collection is packaged in holographic tones, and the Starlit Hyper-Glitz lipstick in sci-fly looked perfect shade of dark sparkly purple for a night out.

The acid yellow kilowatt freestyle highlighter actually looked good on my pale olive skin  but we opted for the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in yacht lyfe – a corally pink blush/highlighter that worked on both my daughter’s pale skin and my more olive complexion. At £21:00 it’s a handy item that you can pop in a handbag and the name alone made us feel glamorous!

The girls on the makeup stand were so knowledgeable they had a queue for the skin tone match service.

I’d highly recommend Fenty as a glittery treat for the Christmas party season, or as a gift to make any beauty-mad teenager happy.

Kari x
