As promised this week’s Wishlist will feature only Independent businesses and we’ve found some real beauties. All are UK based and can be found on Etsy Uk as well as their own websites. It was tricky to pick out just one of their products as our favourites so instead we have featured their shops as a whole. So, grab your purses and go have a peek.
Everybody loves a scented candle but recently I’ve been burning a lot of incense which seems to fit with the drawing in of the evenings. Now, I love incense but if you’ve ever tried to find an incense holder that isn’t shaped like an elephant, tortoise or just a small length of wood that does not catch the falling ash then have a look at Ume. This is the most stylish and chic incense store I have ever seen. Stocking not just beautiful holders but their own brand of artisan incense sticks inspired by ancient recipes and produced using only natural, high grade fragrant plant material.
I’m not going to lie this gorgeous shop popped up whilst I was online Christmas shopping for one of those ‘hard to buy for’ friends that we all have. Anyway, The Artisan Tribe is a London based jewellery and accessories store which has a distinct bohemian style. The owner, Sonum says that “coming from an Asian background and having been raised in Africa, I have always been surrounded and influenced from an ethnic and tribal culture that has been a great inspiration for this jewellery collection.” Using semi-precious gemstones to create their unique handmade jewellery this beautiful store is well worth a lingering look.
Chanchala is a great little store for men’s gifts and interesting pieces of Steampunk jewellery. The owner Chanchala was in her former career an experimental researcher in engineering and the mechanical pieces in her work really reflects this. Every piece is made from found old or unwanted objects and they are all unique and intriguing in equal measure.
Owner Kate Merriman works from her garden studio in Broadstairs, Kent using British stoneware clays to produce her simple yet stunning ceramics. Producing in small quantities her pieces have a beautiful feel that can only be found in hand thrown ceramics.
Dorcascreates is a visual artist “obsessed with big hair, monochrome patterns and unexpected things that make women beautiful.” The owner Dorcas is a London based illustrator and designer/maker whose bold and colourful work is showcased on a variety of print products from notebooks to limited edition art prints. We particularly love her literature inspired illustrated Wall art prints.
Ink + Ocean Botanicals owner Fehmida Shah is a qualified flower essence practitioner and is trained in aromatherapy. Her products are organic, chemical free, cruelty free and contain no artificial fragrances. Beautifully packaged to reflect this natural approach to fragrance. Having recently purchased one of her solid perfumes in ‘Indian Summer’ I can confirm that they are as heavenly as they look.
