Welcome to this months wish list, where we to bring you a round up of some of the things we've been loving recently.
Our NOELLE dress has been such a hit in the office with us both during this unchangeable weather recently. We like to wear it with our favourite clogs and a chunky cardigan.
We're both also loving wearing Vintage sweatshirts, so much so that we're in the process of sourcing some for the W. Vintage section of our shop, watch this space!
Grayson Perry’s Art Club Exhibition
An impromptu visit to Manchester this week meant we could squeeze in a visit to the Grayson Perry Art Club exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. During lockdown, the Channel 4 show hosted by Grayson and his wife Philippa encouraged its viewers to create an art work (in any chosen medium) expressing their life and its changes during the epidemic. Each week a different theme was chosen ranging from portraiture to the view from my window. Grayson and Phillipa invited members of the public to share their works with them, via video chat and then chose pieces that would, once lockdown was over, be shown in the exhibition. The concept that Art is for everyone was echoed in the variety of people who took part. Works from everyday people, some of whom had never considered art as a form of expression sat alongside celebrities such as Harry Hill and Jenny Éclair as well as well-known Artists Antony Gormley and Jeremy Deller.
The exhibition is as eclectic as its contributors; emotive, dark, hopeful and humorous it offers a unique insight to our country through the eyes of many during those strange, strange times.
Tickets for all dates until 31st October are now available to book here:
It was an excited text from a friend of ours that first alerted us to the Holistic Kitchen brand. Knowing that we are always a fan of natural, plant based and cruelty free beauty products she rightly thought that we would love their products too. Based not far from us in York, Holistic Kitchen is the brainchild of Sallyanne who wanted to explore the world of truly holistic beauty and wellbeing products after being inspired by working with essential oils in her work as a holistic massage therapist. Every part of her range is considered, from the beautiful packaging, the natural aromas, down to the costings in creating her range.
The box Sallyanne sent us to review was a real treat and we’ve been testing the products for the last couple of weeks. Before we even get to the products we have to say that the packaging is gorgeous; simple amber glassware with kraft cardboard outers, it is simple yet very stylish. Now the products, we expected to both have one or two favourites (ones that we would repurchase and happily recommend to others) in fact we loved everything. However, there are a few products that really deserve a special mention.
Face Spa Cleansing Balm
This was the product that our friend had REALLY loved and it’s easy to see why. A very small amount of this Balm massaged into the face then wiped away with the warm muslin cloth is enough to melt away a full face of make-up leaving the skin clean with no residue and baby soft. It smells divine and felt like a little spa treatment whilst using it.
Succulent Face Toner
To be honest we never usually bother with a face spritz but this one is fabulous. Use as a toner and wipe it away with cotton wool for fresh revived skin. We loved to use this throughout the day as a ‘reviver’. A quick spritz during the day gives a quick hit of hydration and a little pick me up for the face and mind. The essential oils of chamomile, rose, lavender, geranium, and neroli give this an aroma which is so soothing. We’ve kept it in our office drawer for a quick fix on long days.
Skin Glow Face Elixir
A quick warning that you need to use this sparingly as a little goes such a long way. Olive squalane, calendula, rosehip, camellia & vitamin E make this a super hydrating oil. Massaging in a couple of drops twice a day, morning and night left our skin quenched and glowing without the greasy feeling you would expect from such a rich oil.
Big Little Pot of Wonder
Ok so we’ve saved the best till last. This product was our firm favourite. Soothing, nourishing and healing, again a little goes a long way. A little recurring patch of eczema on my hand was soothed and has almost gone. Chapped lips disappeared. We even used it on dry ends of hair. A combination of organic shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, coconut oil, calendula oil, candelilla wax, and vitamin E this balm really is a multi-tasker that works. Available in 120ml (this would last forever!) or a 60ml size which would be perfect to pop in your handbag for everyday use. We LOVED this product.
We have a policy at Watson & White that we only share something that we love and/or that we use and these products from Holistic Kitchen definitely fit the bill.
Sallyanne is kindly offering W&W customers *15% off all orders (excluding the Kharis Aroma Diffuser) using the code WATSONWHITE15.
